Who this Australian supply program is for

The same shirt is not right for a premium coastal brand, a 300-member club and a charter crew. We define the sales channel and use conditions first, then set the fabric, construction and order structure.

01

Fishing apparel brands

Build a private-label range with custom fit, fabric, trims, packaging and repeat-order control.

02

Clubs and tournaments

Coordinate sponsor artwork, member sizes and event deadlines without treating the order as generic promotional merchandise.

03

Charters and tour operators

Create practical crew and retail shirts for strong sun, spray, repeated washing and long days on the water.

04

Tackle shops and distributors

Develop exclusive colourways or a complete retail-ready line with barcodes, hangtags and carton plans.

Australia market preparation

Build the compliance file before the labels are printed

We turn the approved product specification into a practical label and evidence checklist. Final legal approval remains with the Australian supplier or importer, but the factory file should be complete enough for that review.

Care instructions

English instructions, recognised international care symbols, or both, matched to the actual fabric, print and trims.

Composition and product claims

Fibre percentages, moisture-management claims and other specifications are checked against the approved material rather than copied from a generic label.

Country-of-origin wording

The brand approves accurate origin wording for the finished garment and its packaging.

UPF evidence

The test report, fabric identity, colour and finished garment coverage are kept aligned with the exact claim used in sales materials.

Reference: ACCC Product Safety — care labelling mandatory standard.

Landed-cost control

Compare the order on a delivered basis, not unit price alone

A low factory quote can become expensive when carton volume, duty treatment, GST and inland delivery are ignored. We prepare the commercial invoice, packing list, origin information and carton data for your broker or freight partner to review.

FOB goods + freight & insurance + duty (if applicable) + GST & entry costs + Australian delivery
Import GST 10%

The Australian Border Force generally calculates GST on the taxable importation value, which can include customs value, duty, freight and insurance.

Shipping to Australia

Choose the route after the carton volume is known

Samples and urgent launch quantities usually move by courier or air. Planned bulk orders can move by sea to an east-coast port or Fremantle, then to your warehouse, 3PL or event address.

Sydney & Melbourne

Compare port, 3PL and direct-delivery options for retail and brand inventory.

Brisbane & Queensland

Plan around club, charter and tropical-season demand rather than a generic annual calendar.

Perth & Fremantle

Quote the western route separately; do not assume an east-coast landed cost.

Air and express

Use for samples, approvals and controlled launch quantities when timing matters more than freight economy.

Australian fit development

Do not relabel an Asian size chart

We work from finished-garment measurements, wearer profile and intended movement. A fishing fit needs casting room, sleeve reach and sun coverage without becoming loose enough to snag.

  • Men’s, women’s, youth and unisex blocks
  • Relaxed, regular or athletic silhouettes
  • Longer sleeve and body options for coverage
  • Grading review before the size set is released
  • Fit samples available before bulk approval
Buying calendar

Plan around your actual market window

Southern spring and summer

Back-plan sample approval, photography and stock arrival from the launch date.

Northern tropical demand

Use lighter constructions and a rolling replenishment plan where sun protection sells year-round.

Club and tournament deadlines

Lock sponsor artwork and member size lists before production capacity is booked.

Holiday retail

Include packaging, barcodes and 3PL intake time in the delivery date.

Frequently asked questions

Questions from Australian fishing apparel buyers

These answers are planning guidance. Final product, customs and legal decisions should be confirmed against your approved specification and Australian sales channel.

Can an Australian brand buy custom fishing shirts directly from your factory?

Yes. We work with Australian brands, clubs, charter operators and distributors on OEM and private-label orders. We can support product development, samples, bulk production, packing and shipping coordination to your nominated Australian destination.

What is the MOQ for custom fishing shirts for Australia?

Our starting MOQ is normally 50 pieces per approved style. Size mixing is available. Colour and artwork splits depend on the printing method, fabric and total quantity, so we confirm the workable breakdown before sampling.

How long do samples and bulk production take?

A custom sample normally takes about two weeks after fabric, measurements and artwork are confirmed. Bulk production is usually about one month after sample approval and deposit. Shipping time is quoted separately against the current route and destination.

What care labelling is needed for clothing sold in Australia?

Clothing supplied in Australia is generally covered by the Consumer Goods (Care Labelling) Information Standard 2023. Care instructions may be written in English, shown with the recognised international care symbols, or both. The Australian importer or brand should approve the final legal wording before production.

Can you provide UPF 50+ testing for the Australian market?

We can recommend fabrics, arrange testing and prepare supporting files for a UPF claim. For Australia, the test plan should be aligned with AS/NZS 4399:2020 and the final claim must match the tested material and garment coverage. We do not treat a supplier fabric certificate as automatic approval for every finished style.

Does ChAFTA mean every shipment is duty-free?

No automatic assumption should be made. Preferential treatment depends on the correct tariff classification, the product-specific rule of origin and valid origin documentation. Your broker or importer should confirm eligibility before the order ships. Australian import GST and other entry costs may still apply.

Can you ship to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth?

Yes. Samples can move by courier or air, while bulk orders can be quoted by air or sea to major Australian ports and delivery points. We compare FOB and delivered options using the final carton volume, delivery postcode and required date.
